On the 16th of September 2023, a training program was held by the EQUIPPING THE NEEDY INITIATIVE organization, tagged “Peace and Conflict Management.” The program aimed to equip members of the Kaduna State Vigilantes with the necessary skills to maintain peace and manage conflicts within their community.
The training session was held at the EQUPPING THE NEEDY INITIATIVE HEAD OFFICE situated at Agric quarters, Gonin gora, Kaduna State, and over 50 members of the Kaduna State Vigilantees (KADVIS) attended the program. The attendees were taken through various topics such as understanding conflict, conflict resolution, the role of communication in conflict management, among others.
The trainers who led the session were experts in the field of peace and conflict management. They explained the concept of conflict, ways it can be managed, and how communication could be utilized to resolve conflicts peacefully. The attendees were also taught the importance of teamwork in conflict resolution.
At the end of the training program, certificates were presented to those who successfully completed the training. The attendees expressed their satisfaction with the program, indicating that the training would undoubtedly help them in their duties as members of the Kaduna State Vigilantees.
They affirmed their commitment to implementing the knowledge gained during the training program to maintain peace within their community.
In conclusion, the EQUIPPING THE NEEDY INITIATIVE training program was a success. It further emphasized the importance of peace and conflict management in communities, and the need to equip individuals with the necessary skills to promote peaceful coexistence. The program was one of the many initiatives undertaken by the organization to empower and support communities.
