Jos Widow’s Intervention

JOS WIDOW INTERVENTION

 An intervention program was held in Jos, Plateau State on the 6th and 7th of october, 2023. The program was organized by EQUIPPING THE NEEDY INITIATIVE, a non-governmental organization aimed at empowering and supporting widows, orphans and households faced with economic difficulties.

The intervention program targeted over 200 widows whose households were attacked by Fulani Herdsmen. The program was held at a local community center in Jos and was attended by widows from different communities. The event was graced by international partners from EQUIPPING THE PERSECUTED USA, who were present to support the processes.

The program kicked off with an opening prayer led by one of the pastors invited. The host, DR. BENEDICT ALIKU who is the founder of the EQUIPPING THE NEEDY INITIATIVE welcomed the guests and thanked them for attending the event. he then briefly explained the purpose of the intervention program, which is to empower and support widows and households that are experiencing economic difficulties.

The program organizers then proceeded to distribute cash gifts to the widows, who were visibly pleased and grateful for the gesture. These item was donated by both Organizations (EQUPPING THE PERSECUTED USA/EQUIPPING THE NEEDY INITIATIVE NIGERIA) who were passionate about supporting widows.

The EQUIPPING THE NEEDY INITIATIVE intervention program was a success. The widows were treated with kindness and empathy, and they felt empowered to enter their communities and to cause Changes anywhere they are. The presence of international partners from EQUIPPING THE PERSECUTED USA further validated the importance of supporting widows and households with economic difficulties.
