The Equipping the Needy Vision Initiative has extended its humanitarian outreach to the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Kaduna State, reinforcing efforts to safeguard lives on Nigeria’s highways.

A delegation from the organization, led by Christy Benedict—representing the founder, Benedict Aliku—visited the FRSC office located opposite Murtala Mohammed Square, Independence Way, Kaduna. The visit, which had been scheduled for May 12, culminated in the presentation of communication devices, including walkie-talkies, to the FRSC to enhance their field operations.

The equipment was received by Sector Commander Tijani Illiyasu in the presence of other senior officers. Commander Illiyasu expressed gratitude to the organization, acknowledging the importance of communication tools in improving response times during emergencies.
In a further show of support, Equipping the Needy Vision Initiative also announced the provision of a temporary office space for the FRSC at Gonin Gora. The location, strategically placed along the busy Kaduna-Abuja highway, is expected to serve as a rescue coordination point in the event of road accidents.
A memorandum of understanding was signed by the FRSC to formalize acceptance of the new facility. Commander Illiyasu praised the gesture and pledged the Commission’s commitment to collaborate with the organization in saving lives and enforcing road safety laws.
“The donation and the new office are timely,” he said. “We will ensure they are put to good use as we continue to serve the public with dedication.”

The partnership between Equipping the Needy and the FRSC highlights the growing role of civil society in supporting public safety infrastructure across Nigeria.
